What an exciting announcement! It has been a long wait and an extensive search all around the coast, to find a venue which suited most of our requirements and at last we have found one.
Top of the requirements list were: a commercial kitchen (this is required even though we don’t prepare cooked foods), better storage, more parking, a bigger space for co-op operations to take us in to the future, and if dreams were to come true, a home for FIG right here in Ourimbah. Being in Ourimbah means it’s close to the freeway for our deliveries and those members who travel on the M1 and it is in the centre of our entire membership.
All of that has appeared before us in the form of the brand new rugby club building at Ourimbah – the Razorbacks Rugby Club.
We are most appreciative of the Ourimbah Scout group in providing a home for FIG over the last several years, and are looking to form a great relationship with our new landlords, who seem almost as excited as we are!
Here are some important dates to take note of:
Last day at the Scout Hall: Tuesday 6th October
First day at the Rugby Club: Monday 12th October
This map shows the short distance from our existing venue at the Scout hall to the new (1.7km) and where to park.
The address of the rugby club is officially 10 Chittaway Road, Ourimbah, however the best way to approach it is in through the university entrance off Chittaway Road; turn right at the first car park entrance and keep driving to the back of that car park to what some of you may know as the overflow car park. From there it’s just a short walk across to the building.
There is no parking in front of the building however our farmers will be able to drive straight up to deliver their produce, and Hub drivers will be able to drive up also to collect their Hub orders. To those people, please be aware we have been requested to stay off the rugby field, and turn at the side of the building instead. Please also remember there is a 40 km speed limit throughout the uni grounds. For members who have a lot to carry or have prams or toddlers, or “all of the above” when back visiting FIG after Covid restrictions ease, we shall arrange a volunteer to help you to your car.
